My response to Annie’s question is below.

We will continue to have this issue. Just thought I would send my thoughts on this out. There is only
so much we can do under the circumstances but if you guys get ideas for fundraising, donations, etc
for low income families as we move through the year, I’m glad to hear them.

I’m going to check radonleaders.org to see if there has been any recent discussion.

It’s a good question that should will continue come up. Right now, I can only tell people to look for
help from charitable organizations, especially the one’s that believe in reducing lung cancer deaths. I
think we need to coach people to write up a narrative (or have someone else do it for them if that
would be tough for them) of their burdensome financial situation and then encourage them to
circulate it in their local community and in the radon industry. If people stay “persistent” in searching
for help they will find atleast some assistance. Heck, if they could just scramble together $750 dollars
and then have someone match it…that’s a proposition someone might entertain.

You would think federal money could be set aside for this (e.g. $250,000 a year )……..it’s a major gripe
of mine. If people filled out an application that met the conditions to EPA (or some other federal
entity) and met the requirements, at least that many people would be better off.

I know this question has come up before. I remember the Ginger Creek Foundation, but they have
since been dissolved. Any suggestions of how someone in KY could get any assistance with mitigation
system installation?
