In these times of shrinking budgets, we all need to be looking for alternative funding sources. At last week's conference states shared how they are aligning their radon work with other programs and receiving funding for it.

The following are examples of alternative funding opportunities identified at the conference:
• Kansas received a $3.1M grant from Healthy Homes Grant program to cover 300 homes in Wichita to cover lead removal, smoke detectors, healthy homes, radon testing and mitigation, and education/outreach efforts.
• Missouri received $50K from CDC Environmental Public Health Tracking Network to support updating radon information posted on their website
• Illinois is looking at USDA grant opportunities to include radon mitigation for home repairs
Do you know of other states who are also receiving funds from these grant programs?

Are there other funding opportunities your state has identified that weren't shared in Orlando?

Please tell everyone about your success. Share your ideas with other states.
