***ANNOUNCEMENTS***
FEDERAL AGENCIES JOIN EFFORTS TO FIGHT RADON EXPOSURE: On November 30th, Gina McCarthy, with support from IED's radon team, convened leaders from multiple federal agencies for the first-ever Federal Radon Summit to discuss ways the Federal Government can reduce radon risk in the housing and buildings it owns or influences. This diverse group of senior leaders included representatives from the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Defense, the Veterans Administration, the Department of Energy, the General Services Administration, the Department of Agriculture and the Department of the Interior. Participants will reconvene in 90 days to discuss further actions the Federal Government can take through existing programs to protect families by creating safe and healthy home environments.
