***ANNOUNCEMENTS***
Update on the State Radon Data Exchange Project:
As part of the Federal Radon Action Plan, EPA and CDC, are coordinating efforts with state radon program directors to explore collecting radon data that can be shared and combined with other data on a national scale. Recently, the Missouri Environmental Public Health Tracking Network (through a CDC grant) submitted a proposal to include radon in the CDC's National Public Health Tracking Network. CDC's Content Management Workgroup is now reviewing all proposals submitted. Every state radon program director should contact their respective Principal Investigators (if receiving CDC grants) and encourage them to accept the proposal.
Concurrently, the State Radon Data Exchange Workgroup meets biweekly and is working to identify and then define common data elements that will be collected. We hope to provide status updates of our efforts at the National Meeting in Orlando this fall.
