I would contact the waterproofing company before I touched "their" system. I have had experience with these on two occasions. One of the systems I had installed on a house that I was "flipping". (Get rich flipping houses....yeah right.....). In both systems the channel or "baseboard" purposefully did not fit tight or was not sealed to the wall on top so that any excessive moisture that passed thru the wall above the top of the baseboard would trickle down the face of the wall into the baseboard drain. Therefore if you sealed the top of the drain to make it airtight, the drain could not accept the "trickle down water".......this may not be a problem or a consideration in this system or this basement you are looking at.Incidentally, the similar baseboard system I had installed did not work worth a *$#@&. It seems we should seal the top of the dewatering system so as not to suck air into the ASDS to both maximize effectiveness and create minimal energy penalty. This seems straight forward enough. Does anyone have any advice and or warnings about issue I may not be thinking about? Thank you, as always.
