I don't use charcoal canisters, but I have questions (from a lab) regarding charcoal canisters that I am hopeful subscribers can answer.
One exposes two batches of charcoal canisters in a chamber, the old batch produce results without outliers, but the new batch produces outliers. Upon closer inspection (opening the canisters) it is evident that the new batch has much more fine charcoal (sand, silt, powder). I recall that some charcoals absorb better than others, but does the charcoal size matter also ? My gut feeling is yes. What is the origin of charcoal used for radon canisters? Is coconut charcoal commonly used?
Also, is anyone aware of differences in imported ("Chinese") charcoal versus charcoal produced in the US?
Any information is helpful.
