Hi,
A question was posed to me, and I wanted to get the opinions of those who know better than me.
Is there a move from recommending sub-slab depressurization to positive pressure HVAC as our preferred method of keeping radon out of schools?
My thought is that trying something and monitoring progress are most important; I'm uncertain that there is an official recommendation. What I do know about HVAC operation in schools is that it can be difficult, time-consuming and often inefficient to attempt to fully rely on HVAC to pressurize enough and consistently to keep radon out. Also, the need for a standard on school mitigation is recognized and being disucssed.
Any reactions, corrections, additions to help with this question? Much appreciated!!
