Radon message will go on Paychecks:January is Radon Action Month in Kentucky!
The Kentucky Radon Program wants you to know:
• Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive soil gas that is colorless, odorless, and tasteless.
• Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer, second only to smoking.
• Living in a home with a radon level of 4 pCi/L is like getting 200 chest x-rays per year.
• Free test kits are available through the county health departments or the program office.
• Certified radon mitigators can fix a home with high levels of radon .
