Proclamation for National Radon Action Month

Pat Smith, Alabama Radon State Coordinator attended and participated in the City Council Meeting in Bessemer, Alabama(Jefferson County). Received proclamation from Mayor Kenneth E. Gulley declaring January as National Radon Action Month. Ms. Smith gave a brief presentation on radon and its health risk to the council members and citizens attending the meeting. Radon bags with radon information werer given to each city council member, city attorney,and city clerk. Citizens were informed as where they could obtain radon test kits to test their homes. Ms. Smith was interviewed by The Western Star Newspaper Reporter attending the city council meeting.
