Pat Smith, Alabama Radon State Coordinator attended and participated in the city council meeting in Gardendale, Alabama (Jefferson County). Received proclamation from Mayor Othell Phillips declaring Januarey as National Radon Action Month. Ms. Smith gave a brief radon presentation on radon and its health risk to the council members and citizens attending the meeting. Radon bags with radon information were given out to each city council member, city attorney and city clerk. Citizens were informed where they could obtain radon test kits to test their homes.
