Pat Smith, Alabama Radon State Coordinator attend and participated in the City Council Meeting in Florence, Alabama ( Lauderdale County). Received proclamation from Mayor Bobby Irons declaring January as National Radon Action Month . Ms. Smith gave a brief presentation about radon and its health risk to the council members and citizens attending the meeting. Radon bags were given to each council member, city attorney, and city clerks. Citizens were informed as to where they could obtain radon test kits to test their homes. The council meeting was televised by Comcast channel 3 for public viewing.
