Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Letters were sent out electronically as part of Lung Cancer Awareness Month to all New Jersey County Cancer Coalition offices through a partnership with the NJ Division of Health and Senior Services-Office of Cancer Control and Prevention. Letters provided information about radon and it's correlation to lung cancer. Cancer coalitions were given the opportunity to participate in the Radon Awareness Program (RAP) and the Newborn Pilot Program sponsored by the NJDEP Radon program which provides for the reimbursement of up to $1000 for the purchase of test kits in an effort to reduce radon induced lung cancer. In addition, order forms for outreach materials to be used to promote radon awareness were sent as an attachment.
