Radon Educational Program, Villas at Winder

The Villas at Winder Homeowners in Barrow County invited me to speak at their monthly luncheon in the clubhouse onsite. I was pleased to have Adriane Woods with DCA and GA Certified Radon Mitigator, Dennis Huson participate. I used the radon PowerPoint with handouts of maps and radon information. 42 homeowners attended. Dennis spoke on radon mitigation techniques. Several people in the area had used or knew of a mitigator who is not certified and preforming mitigations which have not reduced the radon levels. I encouraged all to use only a Georgia Certified Radon Mitigator. I provided the current lists of GA Certified Mitigators. This group was very interested and had lots of good questions. This subdivision has had an unusually high number of elevated radon test results in the past. The homes are all one story slab homes. I provided radon test kits to all participants.
