Event Description
Pat Smith, Alabama State Radon Coordinator attend and participated in the Florence City Council Meeting (Lauderdale County). A proclamation was presented by Mayor Mickey Haddock supporting January 2013 as National Radon Action Month. A radon presenation about radon and its health risks in Lauderdale County was presented to the city coucil members and citizens attending the meeting. Radon bags containing radon information and a radon test kit were given to the council members, city clerk and city attorney to encourage radon testing. Citizens were informed that radon test kits could be obtained at the Lauderdale County Extension Office to test their homes.
