I don't know if everyone knows this, but Doug Kladder, Director of the Center for Environmental Research and Technology, Inc. (CERTI), interviewed several radon professionals at the 2011 International Radon Symposium. Those interviews can be found on the CERTI site here. As you listen to the audio presentations, please post your comments and point me and other readers to the great information contained in these interviews. I'd like to feature some of them during National Radon Action Month in January.
One interview that's particularly close to me is the interview with Dave Rowson, Director of EPA's Indoor Environments Division where I work. He talks about federal commitments aimed to integrate radon awareness into several new collaborations, especially Healthy Indoor Environment Protocols for Home Energy Upgrades, HUD's Healthy Homes Initiatives and the Federal Radon Action Plan.
Health hazards indoors affect the quality of life for so many, and radon, the second leading cause of lung cancer in the US, is no exception. Lives are saved because of the passion of radon professionals and advocates, so I want to make sure to say thanks to Doug and CERTI for doing these interviews, and to the many radon experts who shared their expertise and insight to make these interviews happen. Thanks!!
