This is the official announcement on the Radon Leaders Saving Lives of the search for nominations for the annual Scott-Åkerblom award by AARST to be given at the International Radon Symposium in Las Vegas on October 15-17, 2012.
The name for this award comes from its first recipients awarded at the Symposium in 2011, who had agreed to lend their names to this annual award:
Arthur Scott and Gustav Åkerblom.
Arthur Scott comments on the RADONPROFESSIONALS list serve and lives in Canada.
Gustav Åkerblom, from Sweden, has passed away and received the award posthumously in 2011.
If you don't know their accomplishments, you may want to find out and do a search on what each of them has contributed to the early development in the field of radon, testing, mitigation and education. AARST is proud they lend their name to the Scott-Åkerblom Award and is convinced it has started a great tradition.
Members of AARST should bring their nomination to an AARST board member for support.
The process is in more detail explained in the announcement. If you want to bring a nomination forward, contact a board member, get their support and prepare and complete a short text document in the next 10 days (Deadline 14 September). To understand your limitation, your prepared document cannot be more than two pages. See details of announcement below or web page link.
