At the time of writing a previous blogpost, “Huntsman Cancer Institute’s Whiteboard Animation on YouTube Has 33,124 Views on Facebook in Less than One Month,”
http://www.radonleaders.org/node/21074, statistics on YouTube and Facebook views, likes and shares were initially coming in.
Recent communication from Donna Branson, Director, Patient and Public Education at the Institute, reports some updated statistics about the range of influence the whiteboard video is having. Videos may be seen at:

A few highlights comparing statistics from January/February of 2014 to the same period in 2015 are that:
1. hits to utah.radon.gov website increased by 250% from 3,575 to 9,108; and
2. the total number of kits ordered and sent to the laboratory increased by 21%
Statistics gathered indicated:
The 3 minute video has had 37,336 views.
The 30 second video has had 30,649 views.
The total views for both videos totaled 67,985.
Although the Huntsman video cannot be solely credited with increases in the statistics, the media and video awareness campaign certainly has had an impact judging by the number of views and increases in contact from the public.
Donna also reports, “We are hoping to create a Spanish version in the near future.” So watch for the new version coming soon!
