The Radiation Program of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Enviornment is seeking comments on a proposed new regulation - Part 21 - necessary to implement the Colorado Low Income Radon Mitigation Assistance Program. The rule will help to provide financial assistance for the installation of radon mitigation systems in qualified low income owner occupied homes. The rule is being proposed as a result of recent legislation (House Bill HB 16-1141) put forth during the 2016 Colorado legislative session.

This new regulation will determine the process for a new monetary assistance program to fund radon mitigation systems in qualified owner-occupied low income homes.

July 11, 2016 - Stakeholders and interested parties must review the proposed new regulation and associated implementation procedures and policies, and provide comments on or before this date.
Comments received after this date will be considered only if time allows.

August 17, 2016 - Scheduled request for rulemaking before the Colorado Board of Health for Part 21.
Schedules and topics of Board of Health meetings are subject to change.
Following the Board of Health request, and pending board approval, a public notice will be issued and a final rulemaking hearing will be scheduled 60 days following the request.
The final rulemaking is currently scheduled for October 19, 2016.
