Florida Health announces Radon Action Month and the Radon Contest winners in celebration of its campaign for radon awareness, which includes outreach through schools and families to encourage testing and mitigation. http://www.floridahealth.gov/environmental-health/radon/Outreach/poster-contest.html Florida Health sponsored a poster and video contest for students. Radon testing of homes in Florida found that one in five of the homes has elevated levels of radon (in excess of 4pCi/L, the USEPA recommended action level). The Radon Program encourages testing and mitigation and provides extensive public information through its website.
