The EPA Region 4 Radon Stakeholders’ Meeting hosted by the State of Georgia will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter Ravinia, 4355 Ashford Dunwoody Rd Atlanta Georgia.
This meeting is being held at no cost for all those that have a stake in protecting the public from unnecessary exposure to radon in their homes, schools and businesses. Interested stakeholders can meet to discuss common issues, insights into the future, and network. We believe that meetings such as this will better equip all of us with ways to assist the public and reduce radon exposures.
We will:
Address how federal and state policies and programs address healthy housing and identify ways to promote radon risk reduction as a component of good indoor air quality. The conference will examine communication techniques for reaching diverse audiences; ways to use education and outreach for primary prevention; what makes up successful education and outreach programs; and collaboration between public agencies, community groups and industry.
Discuss promoting Radon as part of the larger Indoor Air Quality issue in homes and buildings. This will include presentations and discussions on how radon and other indoor air contaminants are included in the current Green Building movement, including new labeling programs such as Indoor Air Plus.
