City of Racine Health Department, Wisconsin, provides a poster entitled “Do You Know Your Number? Radon by the Numbers” that gives quantitative information to encourage residents to test and mitigate elevated radon.
In Racine, 24% to 41% of homes tested have elevated radon levels. The poster encourages residents to “Know Your Number.” It notes fixing radon levels will cost between $800-2500. It gives the cost of test kits from the City Health Department as between $6- $10. The poster also gives national statistics as a point of reference, as well as a diagram of how radon enters the home.
