Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) through its Indoor Radon Program provides data to the public to promote testing and mitigation. In Michigan one in every four homes is expected to have radon levels that exceed the recommended federal action level of 4 pCi/l.

ELGE has updated data and mapping based on test results from more than 200,000 homes. The data is available at the county level. A map breaks out counties by categories:

· 25% or more homes tested equal to or above 4 pCi/L guideline.

· 10-24% of homes tested equal to or above 4 pCi/L guideline.

· 1-9% of homes tested equal to or above 4 pCi/L guideline. See https://www.michigan.gov/documents/egle/egle-mmd-map_of_michigan_radon_levels_667294_7.pdf

The Radon Program also provides information on a variety of topics such as testing, mitigation, health risk of radon, health care provider information, and real estate information.
