Nadia Noel, Education Coordinator of the University of Nevada Reno Radon Education Program (NREP), was contacted by Loryn Blair, Business/Account Manager of First Centennial Title Company to offer a radon presentation to Realtors who work with the title company. The 40-minute webinar covered basic information on radon that will help the 21 Realtors that attended the class educate their clients about the gas. A few of the attendees requested a copy of the PowerPoint, so Lori provided the copy to all of the participants after the webinar.
After discovering how simple it was to offer a virtual education presentation, Program Director Susan Howe applied for and received permission
to provide NREP's previously approved (in-person)1-hour continuing education credit, "Radon: What Real Estate Professionals Need to Know," through Zoom. NREP will offer the virtual program until Nevada enters a phase in the Corona Virus pandemic where public events can happen safely.
The first Zoom webinar for credit occurred August 5 with Reno/Sparks Association of Realtors (RSAR) hosting.
If that partnership is successful, RSAR may host other 1-hour Zoom CE classes. NREP is also working with RSAR to provide a 3-hour CE class, "Radon and the Real Estate Professional," at their offices in the foreseeable future.
