During November, Lung Cancer Awareness Month, the University of Nevada Reno Radon Program promoted testing for radon saying “Winter is the perfect time to test your home for radon – here's how” in a post on Facebook. Susan Howe, Program Director, explained that winter is a time we all spend more time at home – and particularly during the pandemic that is true. More than 25% of homes tested in Nevada have levels at or above 4 pCi/l, the recommended EPA action level.
For more information, Ms. Howe directs residents to Nevada Radon Education Program website at https://extension.unr.edu/radon/default.aspx or suggests calling the radon hotline at 888-RADON10 (888-723-6610)
