The Kansas Department of Health and Environment uses social media (Facebook) posts to promote testing for radon. The department’s Facebook page includes radon posts along with other health messages. A recent post emphasizes that the only way to know the radon level is to test. It also directs the reader to the tracking and mapping programs that provide test results. Links to the Kansas data and to the CDC National Environmental Public Health Tracking Network are provided, as well as a link to the Kansas Radon Program.
The Kansas Radon Program also has its own Facebook page for messaging about radon. Posts include guidance on where to obtain radon kits, how to find mitigators, the need for testing and other information and public service announcements.
