The Department of Environmental Protection Radon Division is pleased to announce the winners of our fourth annual Pennsylvania Student Radon Poster Contest. Winners of the 2023 Pennsylvania Student Radon Poster Contest are helping DEP educate Pennsylvanians about the importance of testing their homes for this radioactive gas. Students from 10 schools around the state participated in the fourth annual contest, and posters were judged by DEP staff on subject matter accuracy and other criteria.
Jazmin G. earned First Place. Her poster will be entered into a national student radon poster contest. Joslynn Y. earned Second Place. Both students are ninth graders at Monroe Career and Technical Institute in Monroe County. Grace O. earned Third Place. She is a seventh grade student at Western Wayne Middle School in Wayne County.
“We thank all the students who participated in the Student Radon Poster Contest,” said DEP Radon Manager Robert Lewis. “We’re pleased to include the winning posters in our radon educational outreach to Pennsylvanians in 2023.”
