The New Hampshire Radon Program has developed information and resources for teachers about the health impacts of radon. The curriculum developed has a primary focus on raising awareness among youth on the health effects and mitigation of radon.

The materials below have been adapted from the Colorado Fifth and Seventh Grade Science Radon Curriculum. Efforts have been made to adapt this lesson plan to fit within New Hampshire’s Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards performance expectations.

Standards and guidelines the coursework meets are:

· Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts

· Common Core State Standards for Mathematics

· Next Generation Science Standards

· Health Education Curriculum Guidelines - Middle School Curriculum

Materials provided include the lesson plan, teacher booklet, student booklet and a powerpoint presentation. To view the resources, see https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/programs-services/environmental-health-and-you/radon/radon-teacher-resources
