Minnesota has announced the Poster Contest in the following statement:
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is hosting our first Radon Poster Contest in a long time! It is intended to make people aware that high radon levels increase your risk for lung cancer. Testing your home and mitigating are the only ways to reduce that risk. Our hope for participating students is that they will learn about radon and test their homes. The poster contest is open to children ages 9 – 14. Minnesota’s 1st place poster will be submitted to the National Contest in early December 2023. The top three national winners receive cash awards including $1000 for first place. You can submit your posters to MDH by November 17, 2023. To submit include a quality image of the poster and the completed poster submission form.
Our goal is to have as many children participate as possible, so please share this message with anybody you think may be interested. If you have any questions and to submit posters, please contact Marc Katz, in MDH’s Indoor Air Unit at marc.katz@state.mn.us.
