The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Service Radon Program has updated its radon concentration map. An updated map of average radon concentrations by county, from October 2017 through September 2022, presents data reported to the Nebraska Radon Program. The map is categorized into three zones:
· Zone 1 counties have a predicted average indoor radon level greater than 4 pCi/L.
· Zone 2 counties have a predicted average indoor radon level between 2 and 4 pCi/L.
· Zone 3 counties have a predicted average indoor radon level less than 2 pCi/L.
The results of more than half of radon tests in the state are above the action level of 4.0 pCi/L.
