Massachusetts Department of Health, Indoor Air Quality Radon Unit provides outreach to the public published in five languages. The information is published in English, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and Vietnamese. The brochure provides information about what radon is, how it gets into the home and what harm it may cause. It also discusses testing and what can be done if levels are high.

The brochure also explains what this means for Massachusetts residents, explaining that:

· EPA estimates that 628 radon-related lung cancers occur annually in Massachusetts.

· In Massachusetts, it is estimated that 650,000 homes have radon levels that exceed the EPA action guideline of 4 pCi/L.

· Approximately 34,000 homes in Massachusetts have radon levels that exceed 20 pCi/L.
