The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has posted updated radon data mapping, current to December 2024. Information about radon levels is available for every Idaho county.

The total number of tests as of that date was 43,783. The mapping reports that 2 out of 5 test results indicated elevated radon levels. Reporting is given at county level. In Challis County, for instance, 60% of the 234 tests reported radon levels over 3.9 pCi/L. Radon test results are reported at zip code level.

The Department has also produced a new brochure, published in January 2025. The brochure, “Radon in Idaho: Protect Your Family” provides radon information including guidance on interpreting test results.
