Real Talk with Denver7 & CPR News, Episode 70: Radon Dangers

In a YouTube video, an episode of “Real Talk” features radon issues and interviews Margaret Horton, Program Coordinator for the Radon Program at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE).

In the video interview, a lung cancer survivor discusses her lung cancer experience and emphasizes the importance of testing and being aware of radon hazards. She and her husband are co-founders of the Blue Ribbon Project that promotes understanding about radon induced lung cancer discuss issues surrounding radon awareness.

The hosts of the program, Micah Smith and Nathan Fernando-Frescas tested their own homes for radon and talked with Margaret Horton about their test results.

Also, one Colorado Low Income Radon Mitigation Assistance recipient shares her experience. The homeowner was concerned about finding someone she could trust to do the work and how she would pay the expense. She discusses her testing and mitigation experience and encourages others to look at the Colorado Low Income Radon Mitigation Assistance, which paid the entire cost of remediating her home’s radon problem.
