The EPA, in its 2024 report on successes in radon programs, noted New York for radon outreach to parents on newborns.
Three New York hospitals are currently participating in a program that distributes free test kits to parents of newborns. During the 2024 reporting period, nearly 200 test kits were distributed and more than 50 were analyzed. New York hopes to expand the number of participating healthcare facilities in the upcoming year.
