Rhode Island Pilot Project Leads to Expanded Programs in Radon Risk Reduction
In its 2024 report on successes in radon programs, EPA noted successes in radon risk reduction activities.
Specifically, EPA noted that a pilot project using Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Healthy Homes Program funds to test for radon in Rhode Island through the Lead Safe Providence Program was a major success. This led to an expansion of the program in the cities of Central Falls, Pawtucket, and Newport.
