CRCPD Publishes Advisory: Radon Testing with Consumer Digital Radon Monitors
The Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD) has published an advisory for radon testing using a Consumer Digital Radon Monitor (CDRM). CDRMs can be purchased online or in retail stores and are used for monitoring radon continuously.
The advisory explains some of the cautions for using these monitors and verifying results. Key points of the advisory include:
• Consumer Digital Radon Monitors are NOT for testing during real estate transactions.
• Consumer Digital Radon Monitors are NOT for making radon mitigation decisions.
