We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for a special free, one-hour online presentation hosted by the North Carolina Radon Program, the NC Division of Public Health’s NC Data Portal, and the Environmental Public Health Tracking Program.
This event will feature two live demonstrations designed to help participants understand and utilize radon-related data available through the NC Data Portal and the NC Environmental Health Data Dashboard.
During this presentation, you will learn how to:
Access and produce a radon report for your CHA through the NC Data Portal
Produce maps and other visualizations to summarize county-level radon test results in the Environmental Health Data Dashboard
Apply these tools to support community health assessments, outcome measurements, community education, research, and decision-making.
About the Programs Featured:
NC Radon Program – Works to reduce radon-related health risks by providing testing guidance, public education, and resources to help residents identify and mitigate elevated radon levels in homes and buildings.
NC Data Portal – A centralized platform offering open access to a wide range of North Carolina public health and environmental datasets, enabling users to view, download, and analyze data for research, policy development, and community engagement.
NC Environmental Public Health Tracking (NCEPHT) Program – NCEPHT works to empower communities by providing data and context to inform data driven policies, resource allocation, and solutions to build a healthier and more equitable environment for all North Carolinians. NCEPHT developed and maintains the Environmental Health Data Dashboard, which is an interactive tool that summarizes over 100 environmental exposures, health outcomes, and demographic information at the county level to support data-driven public health planning and decision-making.
