Pennsylvania Encourages Radon Testing During National Radon Action Month

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Newsroom has published a January 12, 2026, news release emphasizing the importance of testing homes for radon as part of its outreach regarding Radon Action Month. The news release states: “Testing for radon is one of the easiest actions Pennsylvanians can take to keep their homes safe and families healthy.”

The news release informs about health risks of radon and explains that because of Pennsylvania’s geology, the state is prone to having elevated radon levels and only testing can determine if the home has elevated radon levels. General estimates on testing and mitigation costs are included in the news release.
