In its report titled "Overview of EPA’s State and Tribal Indoor Radon Grants Program: A Focus on Activities Conducted During Fiscal Year 2025," the EPA State Indoor Radon Grant Program notes successes in Testing and Remediation of Schools and Childcare Facilities.
The Florida Department of Health Radon Program was highlighted in the report for its accomplishments regarding radon testing of schools and daycare facilities. The report noted that more than 290 schools and daycares were tested for radon in Florida. The state Department of Health engaged with schools and informed them about mandatory radon testing requirements.
