In its report titled "Overview of EPA’s State and Tribal Indoor Radon Grants Program: A Focus on Activities Conducted During Fiscal Year 2025," the EPA State Indoor Radon Grant Program notes successes in inclusion of radon in Cancer Control Plans (CCPs).
EPA noted in its report that building on an existing strategic plan focusing on health promotion and disease prevention, the Oregon Health Authority partnered with the Knight Cancer Institute to publish a comprehensive cancer control plan in December 2025 that includes a goal to increase radon awareness and testing rates, particularly in rural areas.
