Event Description
The Minnesota Department of Health invites you to attend the radon stakeholder quarterly meeting on January 20, 2010. This is the first of a new series of meetings that will allow business owners, health professionals, nonprofit leaders, and local government officials with an opportunity to learn how radon uniquely affects them. In addition, it provides all attendees with a chance to network with one another and learn what radon related activities are going on throughout the state.

Topics will include Radon Resistant New Construction (RRNC) & Risk Communication to Homeowners

Cost: Free

Builder CEU (3 credit hours) approved for RRNC session.
NEHA Category I - Mitigator and Tester CEU approval pending.

Morning Session (8:00 am to 12:00 pm): Radon Resistant New Construction (RRNC)
Join Dr. Cecil Keen of Minnesota State University Mankato as he explains the Radon Resistant New Construction law, what it means for Minnesota, and what impact it will have on Minnesota builders.

Afternoon Session (1:00 pm to 4:00 pm): Risk Communication
This session is designed to provide participants with a better understanding of how to communicate the risks associated with radon to your clients. MDH will equip you with strategies and tools that can be used when discussing radon with homeowners.
