Thanks to National Radon Action Month partners, 2011 was our most successful year yet. For NRAM 2011, a total of 2,091 unique activities were reported, which is a five percent increase from 2010. These activities lead to continued risk-reducing actions throughout the year and save lives. We are also closer to the goal of spreading National Radon Action Month participation to every state and region across the country, as 37 states and all 10 EPA regions participated in NRAM 2011. This year’s reported total included activities with start dates from September 2010 through February 2011.

Media Activities

One resource that partners used for media activities was EPA’s Living Healthy & Green Media Campaign. During this year’s NRAM reporting period, over $3.2 million in advertising space was donated by media outlets nationwide to run campaign print, radio and television PSAs. Since the beginning of the campaign in 2009, the estimated total value of donated advertising space is over $45 million.
