See the notice below for EPA's CARE program. At least one CARE community in the past has focused on radon as their primary issue.

The CARE grant program works with a wide range of organizations that assist their communities in reducing risk in the local environment. This assistance takes many forms, including forming collaborative partnerships, developing an understanding of the local sources of risk from toxic pollutants, identifying and carrying out projects, and setting priorities.

Previous CARE grant recipients have conducted projects that address radon, asthma, environmental tobacco smoke, mold, and more broadly, healthy homes and schools. Visit www.epa.gov/care for descriptions of CARE communities.
